The Save Our Stages (SOS) Act
We are thrilled that the COVID relief bill passed in December 2020 included Save Our Stages, which is a historic piece of legislation. $15 billion in dedicated relief represents a seismic shift in the conversation at the Federal level about the socio-economic value of Arts & Culture. Save Our Stages marks a new relationship between the Federal Government and the Arts. This win must be recognized as the beginning, not the conclusion, to the long road ahead for relief and recovery for the Arts & Culture sector.

SOS has been championed by the National Independent Venue Association (NIVA) and various other partnering organizations.
The SOS Act is designed to preserve music and theater venues around the country. “It would establish a $10 billion [SBA]grant program for live venue operators, promoters, producers and talent representatives, making grants equal to the lesser of either 45% of gross revenue from 2019, or $12 million.”
