IMPORTANT FIGURES & STATS:

  1. The Arts & Culture industry added $877 billion (4.5%) to the US GDP last year.

  2. This industry adds more to the GDP than Transportation, Agriculture, Construction and Tourism.

  3. Nearly double the growth rate of the rest of the economy. The Arts & Culture industry has a 4.4% investment growth rate, versus the 2.2% national growth rate.

  4. The Arts & Culture industry provides 5.1 million jobs across the United States.

  5. According to the Brookings Institution report “Lost Art: Measuring COVID-19’s Devastating Impact on America’s Creative Economy”, by July 31, 2020, an estimated 2.7 million jobs and more than $150 billion in sales of goods and services for creative industries were lost.

  6. The fine and performing arts industries were hit the hardest, with an estimated 1.4 million jobs and $42.5 billion in sales were lost.

  7. The design and advertising cluster of the Arts & Culture industry was estimated to lose 365,334 jobs.
