#ArtsAreMySuperpower
#ArtsAreMySuperpower was a nationwide effort for children, young adults, families, and classrooms to write letters to Senators voicing support for the arts throughout the month of November 2020. The #ArtsAreMySuperpower Campaign, part of Be An #ArtsHero, was created in partnership with a coalition of organizations focused on arts and education for young people, including TYA/USA, AATE, IPAY, ATA, iTheatrics/JTF, and New Victory.
At #ArtsHero Headquarters, we know that arts and culture accounts for 5.1 million jobs and 4.5% of the U.S. economy. We also know that kids who engage with the performing arts early are*
More likely to continue seeing and participating in theater as they grow
More likely to imagine the lives of others and broaden their worldview
More hopeful for their future
To ensure the future wellbeing and vibrancy of the creative economy, we need to Defend Arts Workers Now and pass the DAWN Act to guarantee that all our favorite theaters, dance studios, concert venues, and art teachers will still be there for us when COVID is past. Let’s make sure you can continue to experience, learn, and create theater, music, dance and visual arts now, and for generations to come.
